Language Arts: Starfall Reading Program

Skills include reading, comprehension, phonetic awarenesswriting, sight words, beginning grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary.
 

Guided Reading: Flying Start to Literacy

Skills include vocabulary instruction, phonics, text features, reading strategies and fluency are introduced and reinforced during small, leveled reading groups in the classroom.  Guided reading groups are introduced in the second half of the year.
 

Mathematics: Envision Mathematics

 Skills are introduced and reinforced through play, centers and hands-on learning opportunities. 

Skills include counting, reading and writing numbers, patterns, shapes, data, addition, subtraction, and measurement.

 

Social Science: A-Z Science Series

 Skills addressed include hypotheses, data sheets, using diagrams, drawing conclusions, observations, graphing, inference, experimentation, and the use of scientific tools.

Social Science:

in-house field trips, community helpers, local field trips,  and character trait building.

Social/Emotional
Students learn to regulate their emotions and reactions, interact with peers, confidence building, age appropriate communications, character building
